Birth Hypnosis
Supporting the body's own instinct to relax and birth... Easier, simpler, calmer.
Hypnosis or deep relaxation in childbirth means training the mind to let go so that the body can relax and birth more easily. Practicing birth hypnosis supports natures design to work simpler and easier while letting fears subside so they don't get in the way.
It is not overriding or controlling the process, it is supporting the process, the hormones, the instincts, the body's own amazing and efficient design to work.
Practicing birth hypnosis also gives women's partners a very real hands on way of being the best support person possible so that both mum and dad are in the bubble of love for the birth of their baby.
What to Expect during your four sessions
On Arrival: you will be asked to complete some questions and we will discuss them together. This is the time to discuss the things that are important to you about the birth of your baby. This is also an opportunity to discuss how relaxation/hypnosis works and to learn about the benefits to you and your baby and to ask any questions you may have.
Relaxation: You will learn a relaxation breathing technique and be led through a relaxation/hypnosis session.
Feedback: This is your chance to talk about how you feel and what the experience of relaxation/hypnosis was like for you.
Scheduling: We will schedule the appointments for your series of sessions. There are four sessions recommended to provide great preparation for birth:Session 1 - Understanding
- Introduction to hypnosis.
- Benefits for birth/baby/life.
- Learning the Soft Breathing Technique and experiencing the Soft Breath Relaxation.
Session 2 – Trust
- Feedback about listening to CD.
- Learn about hormones and body instincts, your body knows how to birth .
- Partner preparation – giving you tools to support your partner.
- Learn surrender breathing and experience the surrender breathing relaxation.
Session 3 – Release
- Talk about emotions in pregnancy, especially fears and belief. Discuss your history and experience with challenges and difficult times in your life and your coping strategies.
- Relaxation – release fears old beliefs.
Session 4 – with partner - Integration/Independence
- Giving you the power to work together.
- Favourite Place Exercise with your partner – teaching your partner to support you in your unique way.
Session Times and Costs
Sessions last for 2 hours and cover any questions you have at this time of your pregnancy.
Sessions cost $150 each including CD's.
