Do you experience:
- Neck/back/hip pain or muscle tension
- Headaches
- Menstrual conditions
- Digestive complaints
- Anxiety, depression or insomnia
You can improve your health with Massage, Shiatsu and Reiki
Remedial MassageRemedial massage improves muscle and joint pain which can develop while you are at home, work or exercising. During your treatment deep massage strokes, muscle and nerve stretching and muscle release points are used to improve your blood circulation and muscular tone.
By reducing pain your quality of life is enhanced.
We may go through home exercises together which help to strengthen or relax your muscles.
Relaxation MassageRelaxation massage involves long, broad, slow massage strokes and rocking.
This encourages your body to rest and restore.
Like remedial massage, it enhances your blood and lymph circulation, nourishes your body cells, relaxes your muscles and diminishes pain. Generally your entire body is treated although if you prefer, I focus on specific areas such as your head, feet, hands, and shoulders.
Pre and Post Natal Massage
Receiving treatments throughout your pregnancy has a range of benefits for you and your baby. Pre and post natal massage decrease your muscle tension, increase your joint movement, induce relaxation and promote your blood flow.
During your treatment emphasis is often placed on your lower back, hips, buttocks, shoulders and feet. Your treatment includes massage, gentle stretching and rocking.
Physical and mental tension is reduced enabling you to relax and move more freely.
You are fully supported throughout prenatal massage with pillows and towels.
Depending on your needs a pregnancy treatment can be focused solely on massage or may include Shiatsu and Reiki.
AromatherapyEssential oils have great healing properties. When inhaled or placed on the skin they send messages to your brain creating mental, emotional and physical changes. For example:
- lavender promotes relaxation
- peppermint increases your energy levels
- basil and wintergreen reduce your muscular aches and pains
I use essential oils that add to the therapeutic effect of both remedial and relaxation massage.
Depending on your needs Cupping, Gua sha, and Moxibustion can also be used during your treatment.
ShiatsuShiatsu translates to “finger pressure” in Japanese. It is holistic healing system based on Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) principles.
Energy moves throughout your body through energy pathways known as meridians which are connected to specific organs. Disruption to this flow of energy may produce pain and stiffness, digestive, emotional and mental imbalances.
During a Shiatsu treatment your energy is rebalanced allowing your pain and symptoms to lessen. You are fully clothed during your treatment while your meridians and muscles are treated with broad palm pressure, stretching, finger pressure, holding and gentle joint rotations.
Shiatsu has exactly the same, if not more benefits than massage.
During a treatment your circulation is stimulated, your nervous system relaxes and your hormonal system can rebalance. Shiatsu is able to treat range of conditions ranging from muscular pain to menstrual difficulties, digestive conditions to anxiety.
During your treatment we may discuss dietary and lifestyle options that help to lessen your symptoms.
ReikiReiki is a Japanese therapy that translates to ‘Universal Life Force Energy’. It was created by Mikao Usui in approximately 1920.
Reiki is a highly effective holistic healing system that promotes your optimum health and well being by increasing your energy levels and decreasing your pain and tension.
Reiki helps restore you to a state of balance by unlocking your body’s natural healing abilities.
During your treatment you are fully clothed whilst I move my hands to different positions on or over your body, directing Reiki energy.
Reiki is excellent for treating painful conditions that aren’t suitable to be treated with other manual therapies.
Reiki generally makes you feel more relaxed and better able to cope with life’s challenges. It’s a truly beautiful method for connecting deeply to yourself and allowing holistic healing to begin. The best way to understand Reiki is to experience it yourself.

“After my shiatsu sessions with Sarah I felt extremely energized, yet deeply relaxed. I found her recommendations to improve my menstrual symptoms very effective... I look forward to receiving her caring, nurturing and healing touch”
-- Susan, Clifton Hill
…. when I treat myself with Reiki I become deeply relaxed and can heal complaints such as sore knees. I have also given Reiki to friends and family and have had particular success with people with sore necks... What I most enjoyed about Sarah's teaching style was her infectious passion for Reiki and her enthusiasm for ensuring her students understood and felt the power of Reiki. Since completing the weekend course I have also benefited from our follow up meetings to practice and discuss Reiki. Since learning Reiki I have experienced positive changes in my life and am planning to do Level Two.”
